Back in 2017, when she
was 18 years old, Lynne Wummel walked from Mt. Springer in Georgia to Mt.
Katahdin in Maine, completing what is called a thru-hike of the Appalachian
Trail. Each year, thousands of hikers attempt a thru-hike of the 2,190-mile
Appalachian Trail and only 1 in 4 is successful. Lynne covered that distance on
foot, traveling through 14 states in 143 days.
Join us to hear about Lynne "Lioness" Wummel and how, with zero backpacking experience and at 18 years of age, she was able to succeed in her 5-month long adventure. Lynne will be sharing some photographs and stories from her hike, talk about what inspired her to take on such a journey, what she carried with her, some highs and lows on the trail, and lessons learned along the way.
