Edwin Turner Osbaldeston went from a
teenage errand boy in working-class 1850s Great Britain to an international con
artists who got away with scores of misdeeds during his 70-year crime spree. He
convinced many that he was a doctor, professor, and war hero, claiming to have
served gallantly in the Crimean War and fought for the unification of Italy
under the command of Giuseppe Garibaldi. In truth, he was a deserter from the
British Royal Artillery. Seldom caught, and rarely held accountable, he used
his charm, good looks, and resourcefulness to get away with a host of crimes,
including murder.
Join author, Ken Siver, as he shares the
adventurous life of this scoundrel and international con artist who is also his
very own Great Grandfather.
Registration and email address is required because a Zoom link will be sent to registrants the day of the program.
